The World Jazz Drumming Experience - Training Registration Page

EXCLUSIVE NEW TRAINING FOR 2026:
You’ve Put Too Much Time Into Drumming to Still Have Things You Hope Nobody Calls.

Maybe it’s swing.
A samba.
An Afro-Cuban groove.
A shuffle.
A solo.
Or simply having to play something you didn’t prepare.
If certain musical situations still make you hesitate, there’s a reason.
In this free training, Grammy Award-winning drummer and Berklee professor Mark Walker shows you how to uncover the weaknesses you may have been practicing around for years.

DOES ANY OF THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?

You know the groove — but it still doesn’t feel right.
You can solo — until you lose the form.
You know plenty of fills — but keep playing the same ones.
You sound good when everything is rehearsed — but tense up when it isn’t.
You practice regularly — but aren’t always sure you’re working on the right things.
And every once in a while you think:
“I should be better at this by now.”

These aren't separate problems.

They’re symptoms.
After decades of performing and teaching, I found that the weaknesses that frustrate drummers tend to reveal themselves in a few fundamental areas.
I use a framework called:
Four Food Groups of Drumming™
Afro-Caribbean
South American
Everything That Swings
Everything With a Backbeat
It’s not a list of every musical tradition.
It’s a way to expose what breaks down when the music changes.
Your time.
Your feel.
Your coordination.
Your vocabulary.
Your form.
Your ability to respond in the moment.
Because you can’t fix what you haven’t identified.
