The World Jazz Drumming Experience Playing Assessment Call
We Only Work With Drummers Grow Their Passion For Drumming
This conversation is for experienced drummers who feel like something in their playing hasn’t fully connected yet — and want clarity on what to work on next.

Most drummers who apply for this call are already practicing and working hard — but feel unclear about what to focus on next or why their playing hasn’t fully come together yet.

On this call, we’ll look at where you are in your playing, where you want to go musically, and whether the Five Point Framework approach makes sense for you.

This is not a sales call. The goal is simply to get clarity on what may currently be holding your playing back and what the next step should be.

“Before joining, I felt unfocused in my practice and unsure how to make real progress. Within six months, my concentration, efficiency, and overall playing improved dramatically. The program goes beyond technique — it helped me understand the music itself, and the community has been incredibly inspiring.”
— John V., Boston, MA

“After more than 30 years of drumming, I realized I was missing important fundamentals. Mark helped me build precision, control, and clarity in my playing, and showed me how to focus my practice instead of guessing what to work on next. The result has been real confidence and direction in my playing again.”
— Ben S., Boston, MA
“Before working with Mark, I struggled with fluency in Brazilian rhythms and felt limited when soloing. I feel more connected to the music and it’s noticeable to both bandmates and audiences.”
— Carlos A., Ecuador
“I struggled to get a real foothold in Afro-Cuban styles despite studying books and materials. Mark quickly diagnosed what I needed and gave me a clear path forward. Not only did my understanding of Afro-Cuban music improve, but I also developed coordination and musical awareness that applies across styles.”
— Ray P., Arlington, MA
“Studying with Mark gave me a strong foundation and the confidence to succeed at Berklee and beyond. His methodology prepares you for real musical situations, and he creates a supportive environment that pushes you to grow.”
— Jake R., Chicago, IL
“I wanted to deepen my understanding of Caribbean and South American rhythms and improve my time and feel. Mark helped me develop a clear process for learning styles authentically, which improved my vocabulary, coordination, and confidence. These skills now translate into many different musical situations.”
— Sam M., Boston, MA
“I knew my use of Brazilian and Cuban styles felt simple and inauthentic. Working with Mark helped me replace that with real musical vocabulary and grooves that inspire my bandmates and make the music feel alive. I feel closer every day to the player I want to become.”
— Brooks G., Virginia Beach, VA
“I had strong upper-body technique from percussion but struggled with balance and coordination on drum set. Mark gave me practical exercises that helped develop my feet and overall coordination, and I’m now playing with much more balance and control.”
